Join us at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium for a night of celebration and fellowship as we gather for the purpose of bringing clean water to the people of East Africa.
This year our event will be hosted at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium in Highland Park. On the evening of October 2nd, you will arrive at the main gate and once you’ve gone up the into the ‘Village’ you will hop on the tram at the base of the park to be guided through the ZOO after-hours.
Once you come through the Aquarium doors you will be able to explore the entire venue from when the doors open at 6:30 PM until the final moments of the night at 10:30 PM. Join us for a cocktail hour where you can peruse our silent auction. Then it’s on to dinner with a live classical mother daughter duo of pianist Jenna Park and cellist and PYSO phenom Kate Jeong. Dessert will be a Pittsburgh Cookie table (bring your best cookies)
From there we will kick the evening off with our water based program that culminates in our live ‘auction’ of clean water projects where you can raise your paddle and help a village in need of clean water! Finally the evening will end with music and dancing as we celebrate the chance to change the world one well at a time.
over 80% of the people of Uganda do not have access to a clean, safe water source. In Tanzania the number is over 70% and in Kenya and Rwanda half of the population has access to clean water. For 25 years CEED has been working to change that reality. In Uganda alone we have drilled over 1000 wells and helped over 1,000,000 people. In Kenya and Tanzania a single well can support a community of over 4,000 people. And in Rwanda we are supporting school children through clean water! And you can be a part of this. By donating a well you are changing the lives of over 1,000 people in East Africa!
This year we are hoping to launch 50 water projects though our Gala and we can’t do it alone!
